The preschool program at Alpine Academy of Rockford addresses the needs of preschool children by
incorporating activities in Computers, Music, Physical Education, Spanish, Art, Math, Science, and Religion.
We work to develop a program that will assist your child in their social, emotional, academic, and spiritual
growth. Alpine Academy believes children who are enriched academically and spiritually will develop a
lifelong love of learning.

Classes
Available for 3 and 4 year olds.
Classes run from 8:00 A.M.-2:50 P.M. daily for all day students.
Classes run from 8:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. daily for half day students.
Before Care is available from 6:30 A.M. to start of school.
After Care is available from 3:00 P.M-5:30 P.M.
Cost for Before Care and After Care is $ 3.50 per hour.
The preschool program follows the Alpine Academy school calendar.
The child must be fully toilet trained.
The child must be age appropriate by September 1st.

Teacher Qualifications
All teachers are qualified according to state standards and experienced.

Social Development
To assist the child in developing appropriate social skills to help them develop a sense of security in
the classroom.
To help the child in their transition from home to school environment.
To assist the child in gaining awareness of his/her personal space.

Physical Development
To provide structured classroom settings and equipment to promote the child’s gross motor skills
developmen.t
To encourage the child’s understanding of fair play and rules within an athletic setting.
To provide the child with opportunities for physical growth and continued development of physical
abilities.

Emotional Development
To provide a loving and supportive classroom setting that will support the child’s development of a
sense of belonging.
To promote the child’s development of a positive self-esteem.
To enable the child to have opportunities to succeed while tailoring the tasks to fit the child’s
capabilities.
To demonstrate the concepts of sharing, fairness, kindness, and respect to promote the child’s
development of these concepts.
To encourage the child’s classroom participation and expression of thoughts and ideas in a supportive
environment.

Spiritual Development
To begin education of the basic Bible stories.
To introduce the basic concepts of Christianity.
To participate in the celebration of religious holidays.
To learn about prayer and worship and God’s love for us.
To develop an understanding of the love Jesus has for each of us.
To promote the child’s beginning to apply the basic concepts of Christianity in the daily lives.

Intellectual Development
To begin the child’s development of basic Kindergarten readiness skills.
To expand the child’s learning process with the incorporation of Music, Art, Physical Education,
Spanish, and Computers.
To provide classroom activities that will allow the opportunity for the child to use reasoning, problem
solving, prediction and decision making skills.
To encourage the child’s love of learning and to begin to gather knowledge through the use of stories,
and resource materials.
To promote language development through the use of story time and library.
